The company was established in June 1982 by our managing director, John Abbott. The climate in 1982 was that of uncertainty and many businesses were consolidating and making cut backs in order to survive. Making business work back then meant you had to get things right from the outset and this approach formed the backbone of our initial success and has become a cornerstone of our business.
From the outset the company were awarded many prestigious contracts including The Royal Exchange Theatre, extension works at Gatwick Airport and refurbishment work for the Cheshire Building Society. In the coming years under John’s guidance and expertise the business went from strength to strength, cementing its reputation as one of the most competitive well regarded successful flooring contractors in the North of England.
In 1989 John’s son Simon joined the company working alongside his father, and was appointed Director in 1997. The family company was further strengthened by the appointment to the company of John’s second son Nick in 2000. Simon & Nick share the same commitment, values and work ethic as John and the company has continued to expand whilst continuing to maintain its reputation within the industry, winning many more high profile contracts including works to the new Hilton Manchester, the new law courts in Manchester and more recently the new Co-operative headquarters in Manchester.
From 1982 until present day the company believes that’s its success has been as a result of the mix of skills, experience and enthusiasm it has in all its business activities aiming to provide a service that ensures reliability, safety and complete customer satisfaction.
